Our Must-Have Registry Items

Boy oh boy (see what I did there?) were Joshua and I overwhelmed when we first started to think about all the things we would need for baby. Truthfully, I didn’t give it much thought until around my second trimester when it finally started to hit home that, ‘Holy cow we are having a baby, a tiny little human!”. We started off our parenting journey at Buy Buy baby where they handed us that magical little gun and told us to scan away! Hours later, we had scanned a whopping 12 items. That’s when we decided we would take to the internet and figure out what do we actually NEED and what all is just fluff? Enter your all encompassing baby registry/ list below! This is also the perfect list if you have a sweet mama-to-be in your life and aren’t sure what to get her.

Big Ticket Items, $100+

Uppa Baby Cruz Stroller System, $549

WHY WE LOVE IT: It’s gorgeous and functional. It was the only stroller in the aisle that we didn’t struggle with. You can tell by the aluminum frame it’s built to last, but is also light weight. You can snap the infant Uppa Baby Mesa car seat into it or get an adapter and snap a different car seat into the frame. There is also a bassinet attachment, sold separately that is perfect for when they are infants. As they get older you will put the rumbler seat in, shown above, so they can be forward facing.

ANOTHER PLUS: If you are planning to travel with your little one, Uppa Baby offers a travel bag for your stroller system that you can use to check at the airport. If the stroller is damaged while inside the bag Uppa Baby will replace your stroller! We plan to use the travel bag this year as we have a few trips planned for this fall and winter.

SIDE NOTE:We loved the Cruz because it is a little more compact than the Uppa Baby Vista system. However, if you are planning to have multiple littles at the same time I would suggest the Vista System because it can accommodate the infant car seat and the rumbler seat for a toddler simultaneously.

Uppa Baby Cruz with Mesa Infant Car Seat and Bassinet, $1200
Uppa Baby Bassinet Stand, $149

WHY WE LOVE IT: Remember that Uppa Baby Bassinet that snaps into your stroller from above? Well, it comes with a stand that is also snaps into. This is perfect for the first few weeks before you transition baby into their crib for night time sleeping and naps. It’s also super easy to move around the house!

Gifts, Under $100

Hatch Baby Rest Sound Machine & Night Light, $59

WHY WE LOVE IT: It’s both a night light and sound machine in one! You can control the settings on your phone, create a favorite five and even set a timer for when you want it to kick on and shut off. However, what really sold me was the ability to simply tap the light and have a gradual glow come on for those middle of the night feedings. It allowed me to see without completely waking up baby.

Inglesina High Chair, $69

WHY WE LOVE IT: This high chair can securely snap onto any table or kitchen island. While we plan to use it at home on our kitchen island mostly, I love the idea that I could easily take it to a family/ friends house or even a restaurant!

Gifts Under $50

Copper Pearl Nursing Cover, $24

WHY WE LOVE IT: If you haven’t caught on by now, you can probably tell I love items that are both practical and multi-purpose. Comotomo Bottle Starter Set, $45

WHY WE LOVE IT: Comotomo baby bottles are designed to most closely mimic breastfeeding to reduce bottle rejection and nipple confusion issues. The ultra wide-neck design allows easy cleaning by hand without a brush; Safe in microwave, boiling water, dishwashers and sterilizers.

Babaste Bottle Holder, $21

WHY WE LOVE IT: Ever been to a restaurant and seen a baby play fetch with their bottle? I have. They throw it and momma has to pick up. No thanks. This allows you to suction the bottle to the table or high chair for easy feedings and no spills.

WHY WE LOVE IT: Not only do they come in the dreamiest of colors, but I can feel confident that what my baby is sucking on isn’t toxic. The soft nipple closely reflects the mother’s breast so no interference with breast feeding either!

Teething Bib Clip, $12

WHY WE LOVE IT: The silicon beads allow baby to chew and soothe those gums while teething, and you don’t have to worry about them spitting out their pacifier and constantly bending down to pick it up. Win, win!

Wash it Later Soak Bags, $14

WHY WE LOVE IT: We all know babies poop. But what isn’t always mentioned are those blow outs that happen at the most wonderful of times, usually when you are super prepared (wink, wink). These wash and soak bags allow you to throw baby’s outfit into them and soak in detergent until you can get home to wash them. It’s a total game changer.

Bare Boppy Nursing Pillow, $29

WHY WE LOVE IT: This is awesome for supporting baby while nursing. You can also use it to prop baby up on the couch or the bed and even support their back as they begin to sit up on their own. If you want to make this gift extra special, select a cover from Pottery Barn Kids like this one and have baby’s name put on it!

TIP: I recommend packing this in your hospital bag!

Aden & Anais Muslim Swaddles, $24

WHY WE LOVE IT: We have used these every day since bringing Beckam home from the hospital. They are perfect in the summer to swaddle baby, through over your shoulder as a burp cloth or even just drape over the car seat to block out the sun. I have a feeling when he gets older we can use them to lay on the ground when he does independent play time, etc.

Nested Bean Zen Swaddle, $29

WHY WE LOVE IT: The first few nights home were a little rough until we bought this zen sleep swaddle. We are now able to put Beckam in his bassinet while sleepy and he is able to fall asleep on his own. The weights built into the chest and sides make him feel as though he is being held and therefore comforting him. Let’s be honest, there isn’t a better gift than the gift of sleep.
