I have been wanting to makeover my home office since we moved in over a year ago. The day has finally come! The room is on the main floor adjacent to the dinning room. It is a space that could also double as an in-law suite, guest bedroom or even a play room. Personally, I think it’s the perfect size for a home office and can’t wait to make it over and take you along the process as we create a space that is both cohesive with the rest of our modern coastal farmhouse of a home and yet inspires me to create.

I once read a tip from a pro designer that said she creates a design board for every single project before she ever purchases a single item. This helps her to create rooms that flow. It also saves her from waisting money or having to constantly make returns. I decided I would try this too, beginning with pieces I already own and included others that were within the budget I allotted for myself. I narrowed it down to two designs below!
I began the home office makeover design process with a few items I already had. The white desk, gold arm lamp and wooden floor length mirror. The window is in the corner so it will need a roman shade. To keep the aesthetic consistent on my first floor, I choose the same rustic petite color hung in my kitchen. I knew I wanted a light and airy feel with some coastal vibes. I added accent pieces that reflected that style and were still pretty neutral in case I ever want to mix things up!
